Trainee Internal Auditor

We currently have a permanent position available within our Group Internal Audit team for a Trainee Internal Auditor. A career in internal audit provides a unique opportunity to learn about an entire business across all areas of operations and to gain an insight into the key drivers of strategic, operational and financial success.

This is an opportunity for someone who is interested in developing their career in a professional role with full training and support provided for the role and study support to gain the Certified Internal Auditor Qualification.

The successful applicant will be expected to work with the Group Internal Audit team delivering audits to the highest professional standards. This role may also involve travel off the island from time-to-time.

The main responsibilities of the role holder will include:

  • Timely completion of audit assignment work in a confidential, independent and objective manner
  • Comprehensive research on the areas and subject matters audited
  • Maintenance of clear documentation and an ability to draft audit reports
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of processes, controls management and governance systems, in accordance with Group Internal Audit departmental standards
  • Follow-up of assignment recommendations to ensure positive change occurs
  • Build positive relationships across the group and promote a positive culture of internal audit

 

To ensure that this role is carried out to the desired level, the successful candidate should have the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE grades A to C including Maths and English. A-Level or equivalent is desirable but not a prerequisite if the candidate has a minimum of 12 months experience in an office environment.
  • Desire to study towards a professional qualification
  • An enquiring mind to approach work with professional skepticism
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Good time management, planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with managers and staff at all levels and effective report writing
