Senior Internal Auditor

We currently have a permanent position available within our Group Internal Audit team for a Senior Internal Auditor.

This is an opportunity for someone who is interested in furthering their career in a professional role within one of the Isle of Man’s leading financial services groups. The successful applicant will be expected to work with the team delivering audits to the highest professional standards through working on a wide variety of audit assignments across all areas of the business. This role may also involve travel off the island from time-to-time.

Reporting to the Head of Group Internal Audit, this position is responsible for conducting audits on all areas of the business.

The main responsibilities of the role holder will include:

  • Ensuring on target delivery of assignments
  • Executing assignments in accordance with professional auditing standards including making recommendations for improved control, efficiency and effectiveness of systems
  • Carrying out comprehensive research on areas of the business and understanding what is happening in the wider industry and external markets
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of processes, controls, risk management and governance systems
  • Following up on assignment recommendations and evaluating the effectiveness of management actions
  • Developing effective working relationships across the business

 

To ensure that this role is carried out to the desired level, the successful candidate should have the following skills and experience:

  • Ideally 3 years experience in internal or external audit
  • Experience and knowledge of a broad range of business and commercial activity including financial services
  • Qualified in accountancy/auditing or other relevant professional qualification
  • An enquiring mind to approach work with professional skepticism
  • Good time management, planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with managers and staff at all levels and effective report writing
  • The ability to analyse and evaluate complex situations and data
  • A flexible approach to work

 

Audit experience is essential. Knowledge of financial services is desirable but not a prerequisite.
