IFGL Global Trusts Manager - 12 month Fixed Term Contract

We are currently looking for an IFGL Global Trusts Manager to join our Technical Services Department for a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

Reporting to the Chief Sales Officer, the role is responsible for the effective governance, operation and strategic development of IFGL’s corporate trustee services across multiple jurisdictions. The successful candidate will provide expert leadership in trust governance, international tax reporting and adviser-facing technical support, ensuring that fiduciary duties are discharged to the highest professional, legal and regulatory standards while supporting the sustainable growth of IFGL’s trust-related activities.

The main duties for the role holder will include:

  • Lead the governance framework for IFGL’s trust-related activities, ensuring trustee decisions are legally sound, defensible and aligned with fiduciary duties.
  • Oversee the day-to-day delivery of trust administration services, ensuring operational accuracy, resilience and adherence to internal and external standards.
  • Review and guide complex trust matters, including distributions, deed amendments, trustee changes and other judgement-based decisions.
  • Ensure trust activities comply with Isle of Man FSA requirements, AML/CFT, CDD, CRS/FATCA and relevant international trust and tax obligations
  • Act as the Group’s subject-matter expert on trust structuring, estate planning, UK Inheritance Tax considerations and international tax reporting frameworks.
  • Provide technical guidance, trustee templates, training and support to internal teams, advisers, distributors and other stakeholders.
  • Work with Sales, Product and Marketing to develop compliant, commercially relevant trust-based planning propositions and adviser-facing materials.
  • Support regulatory submissions, audits, thematic reviews and remediation activity by providing expert input and maintaining robust governance documentation.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with advisers, tax and legal specialists, professional service providers and internal stakeholders across the Group.
  • Contribute to the long-term trust strategy for IFGL, ensuring the trust operating model remains robust, sustainable and aligned with business objectives.

 

To ensure that this role is carried out to the desired level, the successful candidates will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Significant experience within regulated financial services, with strong knowledge of governance, risk and control frameworks across international jurisdictions.
  • Expert knowledge of trust administration, trust structures, fiduciary decision-making and their application to customer circumstances.
  • Strong understanding of international customer tax reporting frameworks, including CRS and FATCA, with knowledge of UK Inheritance Tax and trust taxation desirable.
  • Appropriate professional qualifications demonstrating an understanding of financial planning, succession planning and/or business development.
  • Experience dealing effectively with advisers, distributors, professional service providers, regulators and/or tax authorities.
  • People management experience and the ability to lead, influence and shape a positive culture.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, exercise sound judgement and handle sensitive information with discretion.
