Environment Manager

Are you an experienced Environment Manager looking to take ownership of a complex, business critical technology landscape?

IFGL is seeking an Environment Manager to lead the governance, planning and operational management of our development, test and pre-production environments across both on premise and Azure cloud platforms. Reporting to the Head of IT Delivery, you will play a key role in enabling reliable, high-quality software delivery across multiple products, teams and suppliers.

The main duties for the role holder will include:

  • Define, own and evolve IFGL's environment management strategy and roadmap.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of development, test and pre-production environments.
  • Ensure environments are stable, available and ready to support delivery, testing and release activities.
  • Coordinate environment demand, scheduling and capacity across multiple teams and suppliers.
  • Drive standardisation, governance and continuous improvement across the environment estate.
  • Work closely with DevOps, Testing, Architecture, Infrastructure and third-party partners to improve delivery outcomes.

 

To ensure that this role is carried out to the desired level, the successful candidates will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience managing complex IT environments across multiple platforms and suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of environment lifecycle management, SDLC and software delivery practices.
  • Experience supporting Agile and Waterfall delivery teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of hybrid infrastructure environments, including Azure cloud technologies.
