Assistant Management Accountant
A vacancy has arisen for an Assistant Management Accountant within our Financial Reporting Team. Reporting to the Management Accountant, this role will be responsible for contributing to the monthly financial reporting.
The main responsibilities of this role are:
- Preparation of management information for expenses and headcount in an accurate and timely manner, building working relationships with cost centre heads and answering queries;
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting exercises, understanding and predicting trends, collating information and working with cost centre heads to understand their needs;
- Assist with production of annual financial statements for all service companies, liaise with external auditors for all service company audits;
- Classifying costs accurately, reviewing expense postings to account codes and correcting as necessary;
- Manage a small team;
- The maintenance of daily and monthly procedures and controls within the department.
To ensure this role is carried out to the desired level, the successful candidate will need the following skills and experience:
- Ideally part qualified (ACA/ACCA) or qualified by experience;
- Experience with financial reporting and management accounting, including making improvements to design and function of reports;/li>
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting;
- Good Microsoft office skills, especially in MS Excel;
- Experience of using SUN or similar accounting package;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to plan an organize work to meet deadlines;
- A flexible and adaptable attitude;
- Good problem solving skills;
- Good team working skills;
- Previous experience working within a similar role in a financial services company would be advantageous.
